Our story

For 4 generations the Desaler family have been working in the trade sector and in the distribution of household items. On 23 April 1878, Karl Desaler founded his retail business for household items and hardware, farmers' tools and stoves which developed successfully despite the economic repercussions of the two world wars. In 1949 a wholesale department was added to help supply the retailers in the province of Bolzano, which over the years developed to such an extent that it became necessary to renovate the business and build a new office on the outskirts of the city, at via Pacinotti 6; he was able to move here in 1970 and to this day it houses the headquarters of Kaufgut S.p.A. At the end of the 40s the foundations were laid down to create a sales network over the whole country, with an agent who kept track of sales in Milan and in the north of Italy and another one in Sicily. From 1969 Heinz Desaler, initially at his father's side and then today with his sons Karl and Paul, runs the business which has around 50 employees and supplies wholesale and retail merchants all over Italy.

With experience, reliability and commercial integrity, together with continual search for new, effective and original products, they have earned the respect of many business partners, first with the Desaler firm and then afterwards with Kaufgut.

Under the guidance of Mr Heinz Desaler, Kaufgut has found its exact niche and today offers a line of carefully selected products which are frequently updated to satisfy a changing marketplace whose development cannot always be controlled. Being aware of these changes, which cannot be disregarded, Kaufgut has created an exclusive line of our own featuring household items, marketed under the private Eva Collection label.
